Over and over again, the narrator in these short texts tries to settle into states of restlessness and the feeling of being exiled. She finds solace in words, in the sound and the multiple meanings of a very lyrical prose. The texts in this volume appear in English and German for the first time, translated from Turkish by Nefise Kahraman and Recai Hallaç.
Aslı Erdoğan: When Does a Journey End? is the seventh volume in the 'haɪ̯maːtn̩ publication series, which understands the German term Heimat (home/homeland) in the plural and as a verb. It is published by Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in collaboration with Merve Verlag.
